„The race went very well and I am happy that I had a chance to compete in Estonia,“ said today´s fastest man Said Haddou and added: „I will definitely give my best tomorrow as well!“
The owner of the second place, Clinton Robert Avery also confirms the winning-plans for tomorrow: „I want to race at least as well as I did today.“
Blaz Furdi, owner of the third place, is happy with his result: „This race is definitely not easy and I am very pleased with my third place.“
The fastest Estonian on track was Rein Taaramäe (Cofidis, EST), who is happy to have had an opportunity to ride in his home country: „Racing in my home country is highly motivating for me! Of course you want to become the first at home!“ He comments about tomorrow´s race: „We´ll see tomorrow, how it goes, but I will definitely give my best!“
The leading group of four stayed long ahead of the others for most of the race, which made today´s race very exciting. One of the Leaders was Alo Jakin, member of the Estonian National Team, who said: „Of course we hoped for the best. We hoped that in Jõgeva the group behind us will split, but unfortunately it didn´t. Tomorrow I definitely want to win.”
The Race Director of Estonian Cycling Weekend 2012, Indrek Kelk comments about the race: „It´s a pity, that there were no Estonians among the top three, but I am very glad that the first place went to a new team, for whom it was the first time to race in Estonia.“ He adds, that „One thing, that I can be 100% satisfied with, is the level of safety – thanks to the help from the police it is definitely one of the most safeguarded events in Europe!“
Tallinn-Tartu Grand Prix 2012 was the opening race of Estonian Cycling Weekend 2012. Tomorrow, on May 26th, SEB Tartu Grand Prix 2012 is held.
